Weddings at Mungalli Falls

The secret is well kept - Mungalli Falls, aptly meaning Meeting Place, is arguably the best photo-opportunity for a wedding ceremony and reception, in Far North Queensland. With the back-drop of the falls, the everlasting photos will be spectacular.

Mungalli Falls offers tailored packages, including menus, any theming, table decor, and photography and videography. We are also fully licensed. Please note a sample menu below.

Corporate Retreat

Recently Mungalli Falls has attracted various local and interstate corporate groups, for the most part, intentionally choosing Mungalli Falls for the following reasons:

• Serenity, seclusion and privacy, creating an atmosphere conducive to general productivity for brainstorming, team-bonding & building, budget meetings & wilderness challenges.
• Our accommodation is self-contained (cabins), yet managers to meet most budgets, even for smaller companies that wouldn't ordinarily consider allocating funds for such an investment.
• Our menu can be completely tailored to incorporate local exotic produce, or be as basic as Spaghetti or Hotdogs!
• Our Activities Officers have a wealth of talent in tailoring a specific activity to the needs of what your group may want to achieve during their time at Mungalli. For example, it may be that you want to do the raft-Building activity, but with a twist that ensures efficiency is the theme, to tie in with the overall goal of your visit.
• We are only 90 minutes from Cairns and the domestic and international airports. This is close enough to be perfect for an overnight visit from Cairns, but yet far enough away in the Cairns Highlands, to make you feel like you have escaped!

A suggested package could be as follows but please note that we regularly and most appropriately tailor packages to suit your needs, both for day visits and longer stays. The below, however, would suite a weekend or two night plan:

DAY 1

Arrive, settle in to accommodation, join us in the Waterfall Cafe for brief orientation and welcome morning tea.

Start with a small ice-breaker team-building exercise. An old favorite is Animal Call. Everyone is blind-folded, in small groups, each group is given an animal, then everyone is asked to mingle in a room or sectioned off outdoor area. Then, by using the call of the animal you have been assigned, (eg -Dog = woof! it is up to you to walk around barking and finding the rest of your group! First group to find all their members is the winner!

Lunch served as a gourmet picnic on the banks of Platypus Creek.

Spend the afternoon in our meeting room, chiseling away at the agenda you have set!

Break for afternoon tea of scones, jam & cream, tea and coffee.

Continue the brain-storm or budget plan.

Don the jeans for a sunset horse-ride to Echo Point and along the breath-taking North Johnstone Gorge.

Return to your cabin, freshen up for BBQ dinner alongside the Mungalli Rapids, a spectacular location for a beer or wine and BBQ!

Allow us to take a digital photo of your group with the rapids as the backdrop!  We will then forward this to you or if desired, have it printed and framed for delivery to your office!

DAY 2

Hot Buffet (or continental) breakfast in the Waterfall Caf-/P>

Photo Opportunity - a Team-building activity!
Your team is given a photo of a local scene. The photo will be taken in a specific location, with specific items in it. It may even have other people in it! Study the photo for 10 mins. Then you have 1 hour to recreate exactly what you saw in the photo, in exactly the same location that the photo was taken (if you can find the spot!) This is a brilliant activity for all kinds of groups, and encourages team-work. Finally, once your hour is up, take the photo of what you have created, and see how close it resembles the original photo! Best match is the winner!!

After lunch, the opportunity for more think-tanks, or why not choose another activity from our current activities list and ask us to tailor to suite your theme?!

Dinner at the bottom of Mungalli Falls (numbers limited) With Majestic Mungalli Falls alongside you, let us deliver your set menu dinner to you on the viewing platform at the bottom of the falls! Then, as darkness sets in, watch as the rock-faces light up with GLO-WORMS and GLO-FUNGHI! This is a truly memorable experience and worthy of "Do you remember the night we..." discussions for many years!

**** Another favorite activity for corporate groups is our "Mini Cattle Muster." Pretend you are on the movie, City Slickers for a moment, and visit the outback cattle world of Australia for a day! ****
