Mungalli Falls is fast becoming the
central hub for the Southern Highlands region of the
Tablelands behind Cairns, in Far North Queensland.
The sheer abundance and diversity of
agriculture make it the perfect place for some of the
most exotic, yet fresh produce the country has to offer.
This is all encased in pockets of some of the oldest
recognized rainforests in the world.
OUR NEXT DOOR NEIGHBOUR –
MUNGALLI CREEK DAIRY
Mungalli Creek Dairy is the adjacent
farm. This dairy is now so popular that its varied
produce – yoghurts, milks, cheeses etc, can be purchased
at major food shopping outlets in the area, including
Cairns & Townsville.
Mungalli Creek Dairy is a
bio-dynamic farm. The farm produces its own cream,
drinking milk, cheese, yoghurt and dips and these are
marketed throughout north Queensland. The farm has its
own tasting facililty where visitors can see the dairy products being
made and also sample a range of bio-dynamic dairy
products.
Mungalli Creek recently entered five of
its products in the Dairy Industry Association of
Australia Dairy competition. Gold medals were given for
Best Cream, best Soft Cheese ( Pepper Havarti) and Best
Fresh Cheese (Kaffir Lime and Pepper Quark ) . A Silver
was awarded for Best Flavoured Yogurt ( Rainforest Honey
Yogurt ) and a third awarded for Best Fresh Milk.
Visitors can sample the full range of
these excellent Biodynamic products at the Cafe.

MISTY
MOUNTAINS WALKING TRAILS

5-10 short minutes from Mungalli Falls
is the start of the Misty Mountains Walking Trails…
Misty Mountains Trails was officially opened by the
Minister on friday 29th August 2003.
Stunning waterfalls, spectacular
rainforest, crystal clear creeks and magnificent vistas
are just the beginning. Misty Mountains is Australia ’s
first network of long distance walking trails in a high
altitude rainforest environment.
Over 130 kilometres of tracks have been
constructed under a unique partnership between the
shires of Eacham, Herberton, Cardwell and Johnstone,
Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS),
Traditional Owners, and volunteers from Conservation
Volunteers Australia.
Jirrbal and Ma:mu Aboriginal
people are the Traditional Owners of the Misty
Mountains. Several of the Misty Mountain walking tracks
follow the ridgelines traditionally used by the
traditional owners to connect ‘yabulmbara’, the coastal
plain, to ‘gambilbara’, the rocky country of the
tablelands.
Highlights of Misty Mountains
include stunning views of Elizabeth Grant Falls and
Cannabullen Falls, short walks to secluded fresh water
creeks and extended walks through some of North
Queensland’s most pristine rainforest.
